4:cast Awards 2014

The time is rapidly approaching. On January 1 2014 the nominations for the Forensic 4:cast Awards will open.

As always we anticipate the awards and look forward to giving these awards to the most deserving people and companies in our field.

While I may host the awards and publicize them the whole process belong to you, the digital forensics community. As such I want to ask everyone’s opinion and advice and how we deal with the awards process this year.

Some people have said that they don’t feel comfortable posting their nominations and votes on the Google Drive form we have used in previous years. Other have suggested only allowing people from within our community to vote.

If you have any suggestions please let me know. I want to make the 2014 awards the best yet.

  1. I would like to praise Ira Victor’s podcast “The CyberJungle”. It can get the best forensic blog nomination. Being experienced blogger, I can say creation of high-quality podcast is much more difficult than writing down thoughts in textual format. So I vote for “The CyberJungle”.

Best software tool: robust BelkaSoft Evidence Center 2014

Best hardware tool: mmm, perhaps James Wiebe’s Ditto.
